Steadley Memorial Trust Continues Support of Carthage School District

Posted Date: 01/20/26 (04:09 PM)

The Carthage R-9 School District is grateful to the K.D. & M.L. Steadley Memorial Trust for its generous donation to fully cover the land acquisition adjacent to the Carthage Technical Center. This land will become the future home of the Carthage School District Farm.

The district farm will serve as a hands-on learning space, supporting agricultural education and real-world experiences for students. Located next to the CTC, the farm will allow students to connect classroom learning with practical skills, reinforcing career pathways tied to agriculture, science, and workforce development.

“The high school campus expansion which includes space for a school farm, is a phenomenal opportunity for Carthage School District and for our Ag Science students,” said Carthage Superintendent Dr. Luke Boyer. “We knew the Steadley Trust shared our vision and wanted to partner with us on this project, and we are truly grateful for their generosity and commitment to creating life-long, career-shaping experiences for our students. This contribution fully covers the cost of the land acquisition and allows us to move forward in a financially responsible way. As we develop the land, we will take a phased approach that allows us to leverage available K–12 technical center grants and make the most of every dollar invested.”

The Carthage R-9 School District extends sincere thanks to the K.D. & M.L. Steadley Memorial Trust for its continued partnership and long-standing support of students and programs. Community partnerships like this help move meaningful projects forward and strengthens educational opportunities for current and future Tigers.
