Our goal is to enhance our children's education and support our hard-working Steadley staff through various projects and activities.  From Scholastic book fairs to Box Tops for Education, there's a way for everyone to get involved.  Come join us today!

Our mission is to improve the well being of the children in our school by inspiring and equipping their parents/families to be effectively involved in their children's education.

How can I help?

Consider volunteering to help out with one of the many activites that we do throughout the school year.

  • Jog-a-thon Fundraiser
  • P.O.P.S- Parents on Patrol at Steadley (helping with Kindergarten lunches at the beginning of the year)

How does PTO support our Students and Teachers?

  • PTO helped purchase TV’s for each classroom
  • PTO helped purchase new tables for the cafeteria
  • PTO helped purchase playground equipment for students to use

How can I stay up-to-date with the PTO?

  • Join our Facebook Page (Steadley Elementary PTO, Carthage, MO)
    • It is a private group
    • If you do not answer all of the required questions your request will be denied

When are PTO meetings?

  • PTO meetings are held on the second Monday of each month at 4:15 in the Media Center

    Steadley PTO September Meeting Summary

    Thank you to everyone who attended our September PTO meeting! Here are the key updates and decisions from the meeting.

    Upcoming PTO Meeting

    Monday, October 12, 2026

    • Executive Board Meeting: 4:00 p.m.
    • General PTO Meeting: 4:15 p.m.

    Please note that PTO meeting times have changed for the remainder of the 2026–2027 school year. Meetings will continue to be held on the second Monday of each month.

    Recent & Upcoming Activities

    • Picture Day: Picture Day was held September 2. PTO will work with the school to identify additional volunteers and support for future picture days.
    • Penny Wars: Pre-K was included in this year's Penny Wars. The winning grade level will celebrate with a sno-cone party on September 25 from 2:00–3:00 p.m.
    • Family Pizza Nights: PTO discussed supporting quarterly Family Pizza Nights as part of the school's attendance initiatives.
    • Room Representatives: Teachers have received information about contacting PTO if they would like parent room representatives. 
      • If a parent is willing to help in any capacity, it is recommended the parent contact the teacher directly.

    Parent-Teacher Conferences & Book Fair

    Parent-Teacher Conferences will be held October 27 and October 29, with the Book Fair taking place the same week.

    PTO will provide dinner for staff on October 27, while school administration will coordinate food or snacks for October 29. PTO will also begin seeking community donations to help support conference week.

    Families can also look for a PTO information table during P/T conferences to learn more about what PTO does and ways to get involved.

    Yearbook

    PTO members voted to select Jostens as the Steadley yearbook vendor for the 2026–2027 school year. Additional information about the yearbook process will be shared as details are finalized.

    PTO Leadership & Planning

    PTO approved updates to the authorized officers on the PTO bank account to reflect the current leadership team.

    The Executive Board is also developing a proposed PTO budget for the school year. The proposal will be reviewed at the October meeting.

    Parent Engagement

    PTO is working on several ways to make it easier for families to stay informed and get involved, including:

    • More frequent ParentSquare reminders before meetings
    • Keeping the school calendar updated with PTO events
    • Increasing activity on the PTO Facebook page
    • Updating PTO information on the Steadley school website
    • Providing information about PTO during Parent-Teacher Conferences

    We welcome all Steadley families to attend PTO meetings, volunteer when they are able, and share ideas for supporting our students, staff, and school community.
